From helping with activities to bringing the spooky scenes to life, our students stepped up and helped create a fun experience for children and families. At Kusilvak Career Academy, building student leadership capacity means providing opportunities to take initiative, work together, and contribute to the community. Experiences like these help students develop confidence, practice responsibility, and see the difference they can make through service. Free Environmental Technician Job Training for Spring 2027 The RACEJT program offers free, six-week environmental technician training for eligible residents of rural, non-hub Alaska communities. The program prepares participants for environmental health careers in rural Alaska and includes more than 20 state and national certification classes. Graduates also earn a University of Alaska Fairbanks Bristol Bay Campus Occupational Endorsement Certificate worth 10 college credits. Scholarships cover airfare, lodging, tuition, classes, and small meal stipends. Eligibility requirements include: ● Living in an eligible rural, non-hub Alaska community with a population under 1,200. ● Being at least 18 years old or an emancipated minor. ● Being unemployed or underemployed (working no more than 24 hours per week). ● Having a high school diploma or GED by March 29, 2027. ● Being available for all in-person and virtual training sessions. Training dates: March 29–April 12 and April 23–May 7, 2027, in Anchorage, with a virtual class on April 19. Application deadline: December 9, 2026. Learn more and apply:

🧡 Once KCA, Always KCA! 🧡 We celebrated the end of Session 1 with a wonderful dinner at Wildfork! A big thank-you to the Wildfork staff for hosting us, making us feel welcome, and serving such tasty food. What a great way to wrap up our time together! To our Session 1 students: thank you for the hard work, laughter, friendships, and memories you brought to KCA. We are proud of your growth and the challenges you worked to overcome. While some of you will not be returning for Session 2, you are KCA, and you will always be part of our KCA family. As you head home, carry that growth with you. Keep showing up, supporting one another, and taking steps toward your goals. Your next chapter holds opportunities, and we’ll be cheering you on!
