In mid-March, we organized an email campaign. We provided information and encouraged principals, community members, tribal leaders, board members, and others to send letters advocating for education funding. Although the veto override failed by one vote, our efforts to support education continue. Today, the Regional School Board took a poll vote to adopt a resolution supporting a Base Student Allocation (BSA) increase. The vote was unanimous, and the resolution ([attached](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZB5CENMpDWo7vtFvHXHkE0SIWz90VXve/view?usp=sharing)) will be emailed to Senator Tobin's office, which will be compiled with other similar resolutions and shared with the House Finance Committee this week. This resolution will also be included on the May RSB agenda for formal ratification.

KCA emphasizes relationships and partnerships. Recently, Commissioner Bishop joined the KCA Arctic Survival students for their overnight expedition at Big Lake. The students appreciated Dr. Bishop's participation! KCA also has a new partner, Quintillion Global, which recognizes the importance of connecting communities, businesses, and government to accomplish meaningful work. Well done, KCA!

LYSD Graduation Schedule

The LYSD administration wants to recognize Krishna Campbell from Russian Mission for publishing a children’s book. Becoming an author, as Krishna stated, "...was a dream that me and my Momma shared that has now come to fruition!" Distance Learning Director Lisa Vrvilo, commented, “She is a really hard worker for LYSD, and I love that we can recognize her for her contributions to children.” Authoring a book is no easy feat! Congratulations to Krishna for this significant achievement. Krishna would like to thank everyone who helped support her dream.
