Free Environmental Technician Job Training for Spring 2027 The RACEJT program offers free, six-week environmental technician training for eligible residents of rural, non-hub Alaska communities. The program prepares participants for environmental health careers in rural Alaska and includes more than 20 state and national certification classes. Graduates also earn a University of Alaska Fairbanks Bristol Bay Campus Occupational Endorsement Certificate worth 10 college credits. Scholarships cover airfare, lodging, tuition, classes, and small meal stipends. Eligibility requirements include: ● Living in an eligible rural, non-hub Alaska community with a population under 1,200. ● Being at least 18 years old or an emancipated minor. ● Being unemployed or underemployed (working no more than 24 hours per week). ● Having a high school diploma or GED by March 29, 2027. ● Being available for all in-person and virtual training sessions. Training dates: March 29–April 12 and April 23–May 7, 2027, in Anchorage, with a virtual class on April 19. Application deadline: December 9, 2026. Learn more and apply:
