Title IX
Title IX of the Education Amendements of 1972 is a federal law that prohibits sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientations, and gender identity) discrimination in any education program or activity receiving federal assistance. Title IX states that “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be exclued from particpation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal finanical assistance.”
The Lower Yukon School District is committed to providing a learning environment that is free from sex-based discrimination and sexual harassment. Training is an ongoing effort that is required to be completed annually by all LYSD employees and students.
